The Word Bank is seeking 2 (two) dynamic individual to work with the Poverty Reduction & Economic Management (PREM) network. The successful applicants will be engaged in an exciting and forward-thinking research agenda that supports evidenced-based reforms of Indonesian’s poverty reduction, labor and social protection policies.
The position are:
1. Poverty Economist (Job#121327)
This is a two-year extended-term contract appointment based in Jakarta
Main Responsibilities ;
> Design and carry out research project on topics that support poverty reduction and social protection and provide “rapid response” analytical services on emerging issues:
> Provide technical advice to government to support improvements in delivery of poverty reduction and social protection policies and program;
> Build the research and analytical of government, university and think tank partners agencies in for reaserch design, implementation, and using finding to support evidence-based policy making.
Selection criteria;
> PhD in Economics (micro, economic, labor, demograpich, public economic, economic development, health, or education) and at least 4 years of relevant work experience;
> Strong analitycal and conceptual skills : excellent know ledge of programming. Econometric and statistical analisys techniques;
> Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
2. Poverty Research Analyst (Job#121328)
This is three-year term appointment based in Jakarta
Main Responsibilities :
> Support research project and “rapid response” analisys on issues related to poverty and social protection, using micro-data from statistics Indonesia and commissioned surveys;
> Assist in using research finding to generate policy and program recommendation;
> Strengthen the analytical capacities of partnes government agencies, universities and think thanks.
Selection Criteria;
> Minimum of Masters Degree in Economic, Mathematics or related subject, and at least 2-3 years relevant working experience.
> Experience using lerge-scale quantitative survey data and knowledge of survey instrument design.
> Strong analytical and conceptual skill, and proficient with econometric software packages
> Excellent communication skill in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
